Bon Jovi Lives still

Ok, scroll down and pause the my music on the blog.. You have to here the music that the girls are dancing too..

this is the second video clip I made... Had to post it.. I get a lot done when I can't sleep at night. No one to interupt me fifty times...

In the end Kia is trying to play the air guitar... at least I think that is what she is doing.. I tried to get her to do it.. but it just looks too funny.. She has her daddy's moves all right. Eva's got the head banging part down!! Ok, so they both got their daddy's moves!! LOL :)~

Bon Jovi Lives...

First of all, you must scroll down and pause my music before you play the video clip. :)

I decided this evening that I had to clean the girls bedrooms.. They both were starting to drive me nuts. Toys, toys everywhere. So I turned on some loud tunes and went to work.. came out to throw something in the garbage (a broken toy!) and walked in on them dancing away.. this is just a short clip of them, but I just sat and filmed them for a good 3 songs and almost peed my pants watching these two girls rock out. Kia, by the way has learned how to jump with both feet. I laugh everytime she does it.. its just too funny.

Very late night...

Well my best friend turns 38 on Friday.. We are going to her house tomorrow night to celebrate it. So I decided to make my 6 layers chocolate cake for her.. Now you might be asking?? What is up with these colors? Well, The Beavers are playing their opening game tomorrow night and we are all getting together to watch it and have dinner. KC, jokingly said, can you put a beaver on it. Well I tried. The OSU Beaver logo had too much detail for me to make it come out right. I tried though. I had the beavers head on it and everything, then decided to scrape it all off! I was not happy with it. Well then I thought I would just do it in the OSU colors since I had already colored ALL my frosting those colors. I thought I would make a bunch of orange roses and make it all pretty. Well as you can see no roses either. I had watered down the icing to draw with, so the roses would not stay up, they just melted into a blob. This was not the night for me to have much go right. So I decided on a flower design that I know the icing would hold up for. And this is what I came up with.. Please tell me you can tell those are flowers!! LOL
Happy Birthday Kari....... I love you..... Go Ducks. :)~

Kia runs with the big kids!

This Monday at Scotties Playhouse I went to help out (someone called me to sub). For the first half hour or so, there was not many kids there. So I decided to go ahead and let Kia go for it. Eva helped her up the big steps to the first floor and that is all she needed. She ran for it. She did not hesitate to explore all over the place.. Even go on the rope bridge..
I was pretty proud to see her being fearless.
Eva doing her thing.
This would be Kia going down behind her big sister on the slide... yes I atually climed up there to get a picture. (of course today of all days I have my little camera that is just about to be tosses out!! grrr is makes me mad) But you can see one of Eva's braids infront of Kia..
I am so happy to be able to relax a bit at scotty's playhouse now that Kia can hold her own... and.... I am also so sad.... that she is getting so big that she IS able hold her own!! Where did my little baby go?!?

Dallas Aquatic Center

Todd and I decided late Friday night we would go to either the beach or the aquatic center.. Todd actually chose the aquatic center.. (ok, this is the man who has been in our pool at home about 3 times this summer!!) I was shocked.. But he knew the girls would love it.. and love it they did.

They would not let the girls wear their water wings... so after trying it with nothing at all, which lasted a whole 10 minutes.., we tried life jackets.. they worked out pretty good. Kia could float around with me next to her but still feel like she was on her own..

This is the little kiddie pool that they have.. Eva only lasted a few minutes in this pool before she wanted the big one!

Dallas Aquatic Center

Todd and his girls going down the lazy river. We all probably went down it 20 times.. it was a lot of fun.
Kia liked being on her own on the steps of the big pool. She loves laying on her belly and kicking.

Eva decided to get brave and go down the lazy river on her back.. I think she liked the life jacket.
After two full hours at the center it was time to get going. We had a blast. We will go back again!!

Dragonfly Cookies

I have been wanting to try these for a very long time. I finally learned how to do cookies with fondant so I decided to give these a try..
You can see better in this picture, I have luster dust on one of them. I like the one with the dust best..
I will have to make sure I bake these cookies longer. . I like soft sugar cookie but with the body they break too easy.. both of these have cracks in them. :(
I have a new blog out there for just my treats!! http://zoeysdelights.blogspot.com/

Chuck E. Cheese

Ok, yeserday was a much needed break to get out of town.. So where did we head off too?? Chuck E. Cheese!! This was the first time for Kiara (well I guess not, the first time was when she was 2 weeks old.. not much fun then!!) So when we walked through the doors, her eyes got very big. Kiara really enjoyed herself.

As soon as we entered the place, Eva was off and running. This was not her first time!! LOL Actually I think it is her third time. Eva could not get enough of this jeep ride!

Fairy Party

We were invited to Clara's 3rd birthday party. The girls got to dress up in there fairy outfits. This is Clara, Natalie, and Eva.
They got to play a game.. Kinda like pin the tail on the donkey.. but place the fairy sticker on the flower.. Very cute.

Their yard was perfect for this type of party. I loved all the paths that are around there house.

Summer time fun

I had Ainsley, Ian and Gavin yesterday while their Mamma's where getting much needed things done. I know, I am crazy.. But the day went really well. The kids all sat down and had snack.. The little ones got to play in the little pool. Ian and Eva played in the big pool.
Again, lunch time went smoothly.. Ok.. so Kia throwing her chicken fingers one by one over Ainsley's head was not somthing I wanted to see.. But the whole bunch thought it was pretty funny.. That is what happens when I turn my back for 1 minute to go get my lunch and I can hear them all giggling outside!!
Look at the bathing beauties!! I had put the towels out to dry and then they all ran over to pretend they were taking a nap... Yea I WISH!! LOL
After about 2 hours of the morning heat I finally got the little ones water wings on and hit the pool with all of them. oh except Gavin.. He went down for a nap at noon. It felt SOOOOO good to get into that water. Other friends ended up coming over around 1pm to swim and visit and we did not get out of the pool till about 4pm!!

mini cupcakes

Last to do for the tea was the Cream Filled Mini Cupcakes.. These I can now do in my sleep!! They are an easy design that takes no time at all. That is why I saved those till late last night.

Kelly came and picked everything up along with one of her sons, Bransen, (sorry not sure how to spell that one!) and her daughter Brooke.. they came bearing gifts.. Fresh farm eggs!! Oh.. I love fresh farm eggs, they are the best.. and two huge zucchini's!! Looks like I will be attempting zucchini bread this week!! And ofcourse I have to bread and fry a little bit!! Yummmoooo!! I hope Brookes tea is a fun event.. Happy 6th Birthday Brooke!

Cookies

These were the cookies I came up with for the tea.. I love the first ones the best.. They are made with fondant on the top. I just happened to come across a video on comcast yesterday morning with the instructor using fondant to put on cookies.. So I just had to try it.. I was very happy to be able to use the silver pearls on somthing. And these were pretty easy to do!! Tina did not get to try these.. so I made sure I saved one!!

These I used a damn and dredge technique. Then put sparkles on them. I have a feeling these will tast better then the fondant ones..

Petite Fours

I finally tweaked the recipe to were I like it.. The chocolate coating hardend just right.. It got the Tina approval!! (she's my volunteer taster!!) I will stick with doing them this way.. I still have half the unfinished batch in the freezer, so I am going to try and dip those in white chocolate to see how they look. The design on top I have chosen for my signature. :)

This was my first attempt at making chocolate lollipops from molds. I am making them for Kelly's daughter, Brooke, Who is having a tea party on Wed and she asked me to make a few treats. These are the first ones to be made. It is nice to get some practice in on some of these things I have been wanting to try out. Up next are cookies and petite fours.. You cant see it from the pictures, but the purple part of the lollipops have shimmer dust on them.. they look cool in real life!!
