Kiara's first time painting.

I decided yesterday to try and see how Kia does with painting with her sister. And she loved it. She was very excited when I started getting stuff out of the craft closet. She ran to her chair, said up and danced around it excitedly till I put her in her chair. I put the paints out and gave her one brush and she knew what to do.

Eva always loves to paint. We get out the paints at least two times a week.

I decided to give her the little cup with that paint in it so she could dip it herself.. She really enjoyed that.

Just when I thought it was safe to turn around for one minute to get a cake out of the oven, she takes the orange paint brush and sticks it in her mouth!! I turn around to hear and see her spitting and trying to get the paint out of her mouth. Of course my camera was already put away at that point!! But after that she still wanted to paint for awhile and did not try and eat the paint again. Lesson learned.... till the next time she paints!! LOL

Garden time

Ok. I am pretty happy with my little garden I have going on. First time for peas... They are doing great! I cant wait to be able to actually pick some and eat them. I love fresh sweet peas. I can eat them like chips.

Now... I am praying for my tomato plants this year. Last year my only plant looked like charlie browns xmas tree... very sad and only gave about 10 little cherry tomatoes which Eva picked before they were even rip and ate them. I have two plants this year and they have tripled in size already.

Ahhhhh Cukes... I have four different types this year. I cant wait for my Lemon ones to start growing. I did really well with them last year and learned to use a tomato cage to vine them up so the cukes are straight!! Thanks Todd Kelley!! Thats all we have for now.. I am hopeing to get a few more planters and grow some lettuce maybe! We will see. :)

Park Day

Today was a great day for the park. Not too cold, not too hot. But a little muggy!! Kia is loving the freedom of the park. This little structure is just her size. She loves to go down the two slides..(you cant see them in this pic.) Today she decided to use the rock climbing part as her slide that is at the end of the bridge she is crossing. Lord only knows why.. she must have wanted a bumpy slide today.

Ok.. So Eva is enjoying this... Kia... not so much.. It took her a bit to get her balance back after I had taken her off.

If you look close... Eva is right by the green slide. She loves this big structure and all of its slides.. If you scroll up to the first picture you can see a blue slide.. Kia has gone down that once. She did great. She stayed on her butt all the way down, then Eva helped her off!! Pretty brave little girl.

First French Braids!!

Eva actually sat long enough for me to do TWO french braids.. ofcourse we had the help of watching The Super Readers while I was doing it.

Thats it though.. Her hair needs a hair cut soon! We need to get all the dead ends off and then it will be easier to handle.

Memorial Weekend at Grandma's 2008

We got to Tillamook on Friday night. Todd and I got to leave the kiddo's with Grandma and go out to the movies. We almost did not go, we were standing in line to get our tickets... and their was a huge amount of teenagers around us... made me feel old.. but I also knew they were all about to pile in to the same movie.. since it is a one act theater. But we decided to go anyway and pray we would be able to enjoy the movie. After about 20 minutes into the movie kids started to be quiet.. but not till after the manager came in to tell them to quiet down..(and no I did not go and tattle on them, I saw another woman get up and do it. Thank God.. I really did not want to be the one to do it.!!) So we enjoyed the movie, we went and saw Indiana Jones. I had mixed feeling about it. It was good, but just not great!! I am praying he will come out with one last one and go out with a bang! The next day we went fishing with family. Caught nothing. O-well. My girls seemed to have a lot of fun playing by the water.

Kia had a lot of fun with the net Grandma had gotten them.
Night time and the girls got to camp out in the living room. Kia enjoyed feeding Uncle Matt.

On Monday we went on a hike to a waterfall right outside of Tillamook. We could not make it all the way due to fallen trees. But we got to see it.
closer to the truck we had an open area where the girls got to get a little wet.
All in all it was a good weekend. We never did make it to the beach once!! Way to rainy and cold. We chose to go to both cheese places instead. One to feed the animals and the other to get ice cream.

One very hot weekend.

The pool is up and running! I was in a hurry to get it all cleaned up for our hot 4 days. And thank God I did. Eva was crazy and swam in it the day after I filled it up.. Too cold for me to even put my feet in! But she got in. But did not spend too much time in it. She is doing great with her water wings. Saturday we had the Kelley's over for a swim and a BBQ.

Sunday Eva wanted to swim, but I did not want to get in. So we invited a few neighbor kids over.. (started out with just one) but you know how that goes. Nervously I sat on the parts of the deck todd was not working on and watched. But the kids did great with Eva. The boy we had originally asked, named Taylor, is so good with Eva. He is always watching out for her like a big brother.

Kia wanted to join the fun sooo bad.. Not today. She just got to play in the yard with the water table and then ran around with Ainsley's float.

High Tea

I helped put on a Hight Tea fundraiser for mops this May 10th. It was a ton of fun. I have never been to an actual tea before. So it was all new to me. I dug out my Mother in Laws China she gave Todd and I for our wedding. I really hate the color of them but when I got stuff to match and mixed it with a different color... Pink of course what else!!... I started to like it.

I loved being able to do what ever I wanted on my table. I had fun making my Cupcake bites with these chocolate tea cups and Tea pots out of candy molds I found at the cake store.

The Tea was a huge success. Everyone had a great time.

Seis de Mayo

We missed doing our Cingo de Mayo craft, so today when Kyla was over we did it. We made Mini Sombrero's. The girls painted the cup and plate yellow..

Then got to glue festive balls around the edge..
They turned out pretty cute!!

The Fairy Festival

Last Saturday we went to the Fairy Festival at Alpenrose Dairy. The girls had a lot of fun. They got to dress up in their Fairybest! Wings and all.

We got to make laterns, wands and a little bag that held several things Eva got to pick out. The weather was not the best so we only stayed for a little over an hour and a half. It started to get cold and sprinkled a bit. But the girls seemed to really enjoy all the stuff going on.

And Kiara got two hearts.. She did really well sitting still for this.

Both girls love the Giant Mushroom.

These were the people on stilts.. The kids were running after them at one point during the Fairy Parade. Brave of them.
