Blackberries

We went blackberry picking with the girls this saturday late in the evening.. It was an event.. The girls did pretty good considering the thorns. Half way through one spot I had to pick Kia up and carry her around. She kept getting stuck where ever she stepped. So I was holding her and picking.. And she was eating every other one I picked!! We ended up moving to another place out on a dead end road where three Laso apso's came to visit us.. they kept the girls busy while Todd and I got a lot picked. Then all of a sudden I spotted a big dog coming toward us and that was it.. I swooped up the girls and in the truck they went. We started to pull away and saw a huge amount of blackberries... so instead of getting out (not knowing if that dog was nice or not) I just drove right up next to the bushes and Todd hung out the window and picked a few more.. No that I should have gotten a picture of!! We did end up with enough to freeze three quart size freezer bags!! That will be great this winter. We will need to do it a few more times.. I have to atleast make one cobbler for Todd before summer ends.

She is going three days a week from 9:15 to 12:00. I am excited for her to go and have fun.. I am also excited to be able to spend that time with Kiara one on one.. Eva has a list of things she needs for school.. We were in Target yesterday looking at the backpacks.. Can you guess which one she wants!! yuppp... the princess one.. of course.. what else in life is there.. I tried to steer her towards the polka dot one with a little monkey on it.. but no way... She has her eye on the princess one.. Oh well, what ever gets her excited for school..

Camp Disney

We met Natalie, Ryan, Ali, Tina, Ainsley and Ian at the Bridgeport Village yesterday for Camp Disney.. Everyone got there faces painted.. boy was that a long wait.. There seemed to be a lot more kids there than last week. It was a little crazy. I think I will look to find another fun thing to do with the kids. Maybe Oaks Park skating... Anyone know of anything??

Camp Disney

We went to Camp Disney again yesterday. They had the Young Chef's Academy there teaching the kids how to make pasta and dough. This was one of the stations that Eva got to participate in. She just could not wait to crank the pasta machine. We will have to bring out the pasta machine we have at home so she can use it.

crafting

What was I thinking... Please someone tell me.. Beads and hardwood floor!! They just do not go together! LOL I decided to let Kia pick out some beads at the store so we could do some beading.. She chose these... I swear!! I picked up some pipe cleaners and we came home to try it out. This is a quiet craft, I tell you!! At least word wise from the girls.. They were consentrating so hard to get the beads on the pipe cleaner. It was great to just sit and watch them.. I was very pleased to see Kiara take to it. She took her time with each bead.. She had probably 10 beads on and them the loud thunder of all ten hitting the hardwood floor came.. Those puppies bounced everywhere.. even under my bed in the next room. Then they started rolling off the table and the girls were grabbing a handful at a time to try and string.. I can laugh now.. but I was not laughing then.. We wrapped up the craft and put things away...Next time I know better...I will have them do this craft on the carpet in the living room!!!

Birthday Party

This last Sunday we went to Natalie's and Ryan's birthday part. Natalie turned 3 and Ryan turned 1. This is the first of 6 birthday we have to celebrate this August. WOW!! There are a lot of Aug. birthday. Eva enjoyed herself playing with her friends Natalie and Clara. Kia was at home under the weather with her Daddy. Eva got to have a fun day with me, window shopping. With only one major scare!! See, we took Todd's truck over to Hillsboro to save on gas.. Well, I went to turn a corner to turn into Kohl's and she opened the door... It went flying open, scaring both her and I to death. Needless to say, she kept her hands off of the door from that point on.

Sat. Kite flying

We have had this kite for about two years now.. So we decided to get it out.. Actually Eva spotted it in the garage and decided to get it out. :) It was a good idea! We had it up high in our back yard.. But the wind died down to fast. It crash landed on our roof..
Pretty high up there!!
So we decided to pack up and go to the local park by Jenny's house. Jenny and the family did come out and join us for a bit.
Kia,,, feeling bad and all, still wanted to try her hand at fying... What we really need to do is go kite flying with a friend of ours, Amy!! Now she has some great kites!!

Blueberry pickn'

We went to Farmer Johns this morning to pic blueberries.. This field was right by where we were picking.. It was beautiful.
Kia is not quite tall enough for this shot.. She was not to happy with all the blades touching her.
We ended up with 5 pounds of blueberries.. I am going to freeze most of them for the winter.. I am going to try and make some blueberry muffins from scratch today! Todd loves blueberry muffins!! We will see how they turn out!!
Kia was determined to carry my bucket I had been holding. She did a good job for about half the row.. Then she wanted me to carry her! LOL
