Sickies at the Brandon's

The sickness that has been going around hit our house this month with a vengeance. Kia has been sick the longest. I got it next and with being pregnant it has been very hard for me to shake it. Todd got for a very short time. He was able to take meds to get rid of it fast. Eva was the last to get it, but it does not seem too bad. I am not a tea drinker, but when I am sick (to try to avoid ear infections) I start drinking it all day long. I get the non-caff. kind so I can drink it all day! A few days ago Kia tried some and now everytime she sees I am heating up water she is ready to have some. I now make two cups at a time, or she will drink all of mine!

Hopefully by the end of the week we will all feel 100% better!!

Valentine's Day

The morning of Valentine's day started with me draging my sick self our of bed to make heart pancakes! (what we do for our kids, sorry Todd! poor man got nothing!!) The girls loved the pancakes as always.
Then to their surprise I pulled out the hidden valentine gifts I had gotten the night before in a rush before date night at the church.

After resting for most of the day, the girls needed to get out of the house. So we decided to go to the movies!! Kia did great. They both loved the movie. We went and saw Coraline. Then home it was and I crawled back into bed to get some more needed rest. Thank goodness Todd was home Sunday and monday, cause I spent most of that time in the bed or one trip to the Dr's!!

Valentine's

Today we went to the Hillside Manor in McMinnville with our MOPS friends. It is a retirement home. Everyone got to hand out Valentine cards that we had made earlier this week.
It was very sweet to see all the kids handing out their cards with smiles.
And then ofcourse when there was no more cards in our bag, Kia had to find a place for the bag to go.!! ON her head.

Tuesday

This Tuesday we woke up to snow.. Again!! the girls were excited to watch it snow.. I on the other had was not pleased to see it! I am still recovering from the three weeks of snow in December. I would be just fine if it did not snow again till next winter. But it was very entertaining for the girls to watch it snow all morning till preschool. Thank goodness they did not cancel preschool.

Muffin tin Monday's make a comeback!

I have not done a muffin tin Monday in a long time.. We needed to spice up the lunch meal. So on the menu was grape tomatoes, carrots, ranch, strawberries, cheezits and bagels with cream cheese. It was a hit! I used cupcake papers to make it a little different.

We can not get enough strawberries in this houes.. I have to ration them or the girls will eat the entire container in one sitting.!

First trip to the Dentist

Wow is all I can say.. We went to Eva and Kiara's first dentist appoint to a place in Willsonville. "Dentistry for Kids!" And boy do they mean it.. Right when you walk in it is all about kids! The waiting room was nothing but for kids. They had a huge kitchen area, ship area and a huge doll house that was bigger then the girls. They were fully entertained while I filled out my paper work on a computer! Then when it was time.. The Dentist came and got the girls.. Not the assistant! I was very happy about that.. He sat down with the girls in the waiting room and talked with them a bit before taking us back.
Once back they got a baggy and got to fill it with a toothbrush of there choice (princess of course!) and floss and a tooth mirror. Then they both got to choose what flavor of cleaning paste they got. Cherry was the choice for both. Eva was first.. She listened and did just what he asked and they cleaned her teeth, took x-rays and flossed. He was great with her.. Let her feel all the instruments on her hand first. She got to watch Wall-E movie, but was more interested in what he was doing. Now look at the picture on the bottom left... yes that is a refreshment case with popsicles and icecream!! What.. I have never seen this!! The girls walked right past it!! :) They even had a refrigerator in the waiting room with stuff in it if you wanted it.. The girls picked out waters~!
Then it was Kia's turn after playing around in the room next to eva and in the hallway. it is all kind of open which is nice. I dont think she was suppose to be on the giraffe, but Todd could not resist! Boy it took a little talking with Eva for her to warm up to the Dentist, but once she did it was fine..
Then after the Dentist took picures of them and made them Certificates for their first visit, he took them to the Prize area.. Holy cow.. now my first time to the Dentist was not even close to this!! I could not believe they got to choose from this stash of goodies. Both girls settled on a box that had sunglasses and a pink watch in it.
Todd walked out of there and said "we will never go anywhere else for them!!" This place is great. I was mostly impressed with the Dentist himself.. The assistant did not do anything but write down stuff about their teeth. He did it all. And that is what impressed me!

Finally...

Oh My Gosh!! I am sooooo glad to finally have my organizing of the closets done!! This one was the last and the worst. Mainly because I had to wait on someone to go through all of his books! I was so proud of how much Todd actually took to Goodwill. Now I can work on the computer and feel at peace!! LOL

Dr's Appt.

I had my 13 week appointment today.. It was suppose to be a 12 week appt, but we were on vacation last monday. Better late then never! I had an ultra sound before seeing David. The ultra sound tech was great. She took her time and showed me everything she could. I don't think it hit me till today that I am going to have another baby! The ultra sound is what did it. Before now it has just looked like a jelly bean. Today, though, I got to see so much of this baby. It moved around so much. Hands were by its head and mouth. And at the very end I got to see it open its mouth and move the fingers close to or into its mouth. AMAZING! I was so thrilled to be able to see all of that today. Heart beat is strong at 150.
Today I am on cloud 9.. What a great day! My next appointment is in 4 weeks with another ultra sound.. A pretty big one at this point. I cant wait.. they should be able to tell me the sex of the baby for sure at this next one!

Something New

We decided to go to the Chinese Cultural Fair this weekend. We wanted to do something different with the girls and Eva had seen kids dancing on the news the other day getting ready for this fair. Todd and I have decided that once a month we are going to make it a point to go and do something different with the girls outside of our area. We seemed to be in a rut with the stuff that we do.
Eva was glued to the stage to watch the fasion show. We ended up missing the dancers.
They both got their faces pained. That is hello kitty on eva cheek!
Ohhh Bubble Bubble drinks. The girls loved the strawberry, but the one Kia has (passion fruit) did not go over so well. She was fine till she tasted her sisters strawberry, then it was no more passion fruit!! I should always get the same thing. What was I thinking!
Afterwards we were able to stop by our friends house the McAuleys and Eva and Kia got to play with Clara! It was nice to be able to see our friends that we do not get to see often.

Lambing Season.

We are lucky enough to have a friend, Kelly, who lives on a big farm. She invited us over to their barn during lambing season. That day there had been 2 births. And there were probably 8 mommy sheep with baby lambs right in the area where we could see and pet them. Kia went to sleep right before we got there, but ended up waking up later so she could join the fun.
Eva got to feed the llama that is the protector of the herd. She could not stop talking about this to everyone later on.
Kia woke up and was excited to see the lambs. We were joined by Stacie and her daughters. Kelly also had her two boys with her.

later we ended up scarring a mom sheep and she jumped right out of her pin area. Just too many kids around for her I guess. Kelly got her back in to her babies though! She also fixed my truck which had a rock stuck in the break pad! Let me tell you, that is not a noise anyone wants to hear.. I had no idea what was wrong and she just stuck her hands right in the tire and fixed it!! Thank you kelly! I was about to have a heart attack thinking my rig was broke!! LOL

The next day Eva could not wait to tell her teachers at preschool. And she has not been able to stop talking about the Llama!
