After a few wrong turns we made it out to the newton light show. First year we have ever been out there. Never knew about it till this year. (thx Stacie!) It is about a 20 minute light show to music and skits. They even have their own radio station.

I was sad that Kia and JD fell asleep before we got there. But Eva really enjoyed it.

Kiara Turns 4

Kiara turned 4 this year.. And boy was she excited for her party.. This year i did it a little different. We had her party in the middle of the week.... in the middle of the day.. I enlisted Auntie KC to help out and all my MOPS mommies got to have a break. Thats right.. It was a drop off your kid and run party. :) And it was soooo much easier. I loved it.. the kids loved it.. And everyone had fun.

It is hard to believe she is already 4.. Where does all the time go.!

A few much needed up dates.. Sorry Grandpa Mac and family.. things have just been really busy around here! Hopefully I can get it all caught up.

In Dec. Todd did his first trail run.. And boy did he pick a doozy of one to start with..

This would be near the end.. Poor guy.. and this was after a huge flight of stairs. This would be the middle of a one long incline.

He finished strong. The girls where very excited to see him.

The circus came to town this last sept. And we ended up getting free tickets to go see it. (long story) anyway. the girls were very excited to go. They loved almost all of it.. 2.5 hours is a long time for any kid to sit still in a small seat.

Jax fell asleep for a bit but then woke up and enjoyed the show.

It all started with this one thing. Our light after 7 years in the house stopped working. or stopped working correctly. So we replaced it.

It looked great and I was very happy.. but then it was really bright in my kitchen.. and well, it let me see how badly everything needed to be cleaned and well somethings just needed to be replaced..

It was amazing to stand back and watch her. She new Maddie from preschool and she was very excited to see that she was sitting by her in class. She politely got up and got some pencils to share with maddie. Very sweet.

This year Kiara is going all by herself to preschool. It is a great in home preschool that is only a block away. She loves the teachers there and so do I. She was very excited to get her new clothes on and get going.

Todd's first run.

Todd finished the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon today. I got to see him run in two spots of the race in Lafayette. Did take pic's but my card went bad on me.. so I cant get them off the card now :( and then when I got to the finish line in Carlton.. I was not prepared for 20 minutes of trying to find a parking spot! Jax and I ended up missing him come in. I wanted to cry! But he finished in great time 1 hour and 49 minutes. Way to go babe! I am so very proud of you. (I think he has caught the running bug)

Thought the finish line looked pretty cool with the barrels of wine.

Then he got to go around and do wine tasting for free.. We hit a few of them then decided food might be better right now at 10 am in the morning. Pizza here we come!

So we have this place in town that has seats for little girls. (very smart on their part.. I have never seen these before!) Stacie had told me what she is doing for Ali to get her to stay out of their room at night.. And we had the same issue with both girls. So we decided to do the same thing. After 7 nights in a row of staying out of our bed she would be able to get a pedi with mommy. She loved the idea. It took her about 3 weeks to finally do it. But she did.. and every since, we have not had an issue with her sneaking into our bed. Now if we could only get Kia to follow her!!

Everything was tickleish to her.. I think she laughed the entire time and would not stop asking questions!!

Ok.. So my girls are a little social. LOL They have no worries about finding "best friends" everywhere they go. As soon as we pulled up they ran over and started talking with this little girl. She had a little sister about jax's age. They made themselves right at home.

Then a huge truck pulled up with 6 kids.. well it was over.. after that all the kids piled into the back of the big rig and started playing. The parents were really nice and easy going. Eva ended up watching the movie with two of the little girls in that truck sharing a little seat, popcorn, chocolate and more chocolate. :)

Jax watched the movie and loved it. he almost made it thru the entire movie.

This would be the rig next to us with the two little girls. Kia decided after about 1/2 there to come back and snuggle with daddy.

We decided right then that we would be back with the kids again soon. We all had lots of fun.!

Ok.. so it was waaaaay past time for a hair cut for my boy! We were finally over in Willsonville and stopped in at Whipper Snappers. Great place. No one there at that time of day so Jax had them all to himself. We sat him down in the Red sportscar and she went to work. He had no problem. I am shocked she managed to do it though. He kept looking around and around. Finally I held his head to get the back done with the clippers. He did not seem to mind the clippers at all. (thank god)

Trusting Dragonfly

We went marion berry picking a few weeks ago and we ran into a big dragonfly. It stayed around us for some time. Once I brought the girls attention to it, they could not stop bugging it. :) But boy did it trust these two little girls. It was amazing. I was waiting for it to land right into Eva's hands. But it just sat there quietly watching both these little girls talk to it.

Needed to do Eva's 5 year old pic's, so I decided to get them done at the beach. Thank goodness there was now wind that morning and it was just warm enough for her to be in the dress.. WE have a bike rider!! With no training wheels. Congrats Eva. It did not take long. About 5 days of practice. One closeline by a tree limb. But Eva is tough. She got right back on. She got the riding part down fast.. it was the starting off part that took the longest. She had to get that part down before we went camping in order to ride her bike.

This would be at the camp ground. She did a great job. Even though she crashed twice taking a tight turn, she got right back on and took off!

We always spend Zoey's birthday as a family. Todd took the day off and we headed of to see the movie "Toy Story 3" It was a great start to a great day. After we got out of the movies we headed on over to the Wilsonville water fountains. This was J.D.'s first visit there. And he loved it. We could not have asked for a better day then this day. Perfect weather, tons of laughter, smiling faces and talking about their sister Zoey!

Yes that would be a window screen.. I was wondering where that was!! LOL Thanks Eva and Kia. Feel sorry for me please.. I actually have to step into that and start scrubbing it clean!!

Every two years it seems we have to replace the tarp!! now that is just plain fun. :( but it looks so much better. And thank goodness they were on sale at bi-mart.. Those big tarps can get spendy!! Ouch. I would love to cement it in next year!

I saw this in a magazine called Family Fun. (we got it in our MOPS goodie bags) I thought it would be a fun project for the girls to do. They got to put on the glue and glitter. Then I applied the eyes. I had to hunt for Googly eyes that small!! But they turned out cute.. Cant wait to give them to the girls tomorrow at Tiny tots.

Well, Both girls had Naked Butt pictures taken of them at around 9 months.. I had been putting it off for Jax.. It never seemed like the right time.. But as he is getting older he is starting to move around a lot more and before he full out crawls I needed to get them done. So we got out the back drops.. aka.. sheets... and got a few taken. It was a struggle to get any shots cause he is just too excited and wants to move around everywhere. Once he figures out the sheet moved around it was hard. He was scooching all around the table, which made me nervous. I was working up a sweat trying to hold my big camera with a flash attached and watch him, straighten out the sheet, move him back.. move him back and move him back some more.. Wow.. that was hard work.. I am glad I got them done though. He had a lot of fun and put on his best smile for me!

Ever since we moved into this house this stove has given us problems.. you always had to wiggle the elements on the stove top to get them to work. (really glad I never got shocked my one of them) U used to be able to see the time and temp on the display pad.. that went out about 3 months ago.. That should have been our first clue it was time to put her down! Then, not sure if it was the water I boiled over on the top or the beer butt chicken that finally put it over the edge. But it finally died on us the day after we cooked the best chicken in our life.

Very scary to look under it and see all the dust bunnies that had collected over the years.. And no.. I am not one to pull out my stove to clean under it. I am a clean freak but I draw the line on that one. Maybe I will have to add it after seeing all the stuff under the stove. which actually was just dust and one toy car. Not bad I would say.

I am sure the lowes guy just loved me taking pics of him!! LOL

And there you go.. A nice shiney new stove to make my ugly kitchen look even uglier.. But... I LOVE IT!

a few weeks ago Eva twisted her ankle really bad. Off to the Dr. the next day. Her first x-rays were done to see if there was a break. Nope.. But she had to wear this brace for two weeks. ahhhhhh they should have just casted her up. It would have been easier then a brace!

When Saying Goodbye Means Hello.

When we had Zoey almost 6 years ago we were given a book entitled, "When Saying Hello Means Goodbye". The title has always saddened my heart. When we had Jax, we decided that Zoey's and Eva's room would become his.... Eventually...

It still catches me off guard when another phase of grief approaches. At first I ignore it, push it to the back of my mind. But eventually it consumes me. Gearing up to re-do this room was just that. Eight months of preparing for this change. That morning was hard. But after crying it out and talking with the one person I should have been talking to the entire time but wasn't, I was ready...

Ready to once again, say Goodbye to the dreams that once were, dreams of rocking Zoey to sleep, playing with her on the floor of her room, listening to her giggle, watching her smile and hearing her say those four precious words, I love you mommy.

Ready and excited to say Hello to the hopes and dreams that have already become.

At the beginning of spring break Eva had been asking to have a sleep over.. I had no clue where she even got the idea or how she knew about sleep overs. But I said yes.. We decided each girl could invite one girl. Right away they chose Kyla and Ainsley. Then they started listing off about 6 others.. wait a minute.. hold on.. just one each. Later I will brave a bigger slumber party.

As soon as the girls arrived we took off for a walk to the local school playground to get some fresh air. It was such a nice day. The girls had a ton of fun.

And of course we had to stop and pick up Acorns to bring back to my house.. My girls are obsessed with these things.

What is a slumber party with out some treats. I found these in the Hello Cupcake book I have and had to make them for the girls. Each one had there own to look like them.. Ok kinda look like them.. Ok.. so they have the correct hair color!! LOL

We decided since it was so nice to light the fire pit. Everyone enjoyed roasting marshmallows.

Then by 8:30 pm it was ready to move inside and get ready for a movie.. Bath first.. It was very funny to see 4 girls trying to squeeze into our bath tub.

All eyes on the movie.. and one little girl who asked a LOT of questions... wow.. did not know she could talk that much.. LOL

The younger girls decided the beds would suit them better. They were really tired after the movie (Planet 51) Very cute movie. So off to bed with a few story's read to them. They were out before I knew it. Sweet!

The older girls decided to watch another movie. Eva fell asleep about 11pm.. And you can see in this picture, Kyla still has her eyes open.. I was amazed.. But the movie got turned off at 11:15 and she closed her eyes.

All was quiet in the Brandon's home!! And Todd and I were sooo ready for bed.

For Oregon that is.. Anytime it gets over 50 and somewhat sunny my girls think it is summer! This would be day two of playing in the mud. I was sitting in the office working on the computer and I hear... Jolina... Get your camera! And this is what I find..

My girls are just plain crazy. Now I did not have my camera in hand when Eva got on top of the play house and danced around.. I wonder what my neighbors think of my girls!!

This is how my girls entertain themselves in a room they are not suppose to be playing in when I am not in there. I can always hear them getting my chair out of the closet.

So we are about to go swimming and I ask the girls to go get ready.. I almost peed my pants when Kia came out in this. Note the Boots on the wrong feet. Too funny.

This is what happens when mommy is 5 feet away doing a Zumba video.. She is so proud of herself.. I could not help but laugh. Sometimes she makes my day with silliness.

Last weekend we were invited to a swim birthday party. And it was time J.D. got in the pool.

He mananged about 40 minutes of the pool, but then was getting too cold.. It was nice to get him in the water. He was very calm and seemed to enjoy himself.. But what kid of mine does not like the water!!

Dr's Appointment

Jax is now 6 month old.. Time fly's by way to fast.. He is just now starting to sit on his own.. still falls over a lot.. but he is getting the hang of it.

He's happy... no shots today.. Not sure when we will start them.. I am thinking at 9 months maybe.

Kia learns to ride

A few weeks ago Kia decided she wanted to try riding her sisters bike.. Well, once this little girls sets her mind to it.. she does it.. She rode in circles in the garage with no help for about 20 mintues.. Yelling weeeeeeee weeeeeee..

Its about time she gets her own bike... :) now if I will only give up the garage to her and not my truck she could ride more.. :) spring needs to get here soon.

It snowed in Dec. the day we had our friend Kyla over.. In about 2 hours we had a ton of snow.. it was amazing. The girls really enjoyed it.

after playing in in for a long time, they were ready for some hot chocolate and snacks.
